Quality Management
VDA Volume 6 Part 1 - Requirements of the
Verband der Deutschen Automobilindustrie
for OEMs and other suppliers
A consistent benchmark to score the quality of
automotive industry suppliers
Benefits of VDA 6.1:
The VDA QMC defined quality standards for the German
automotive industry and published them in the VDA 6.X
volumes. Those documents provide the automotive industry,
its suppliers and other attached services, a consistent and
measurable scoring process for their quality systems.
VDA 6.1 (6.2 / 6.4) is the quality management standard describing
the quality requirements for the entire range of suppliers
to the German automotive industry. VDA 6.1 certification
presupposes the achievement of ISO 9001 certification.
Along with automotive specific requirements, economic and
customer-related aspects are also assessed.
